Among the colonists are 200 bachelors and an equal number of maidens who are severally engaged to be married, but their weddings have not yet taken place because of poverty. Eather Paradis, to urge each* couple to join the colonists, promised to each a farm, and to Lave a great marriage ceremony in public, when the whole 400 are to be married at the same time.
