DANGER IN THE MILK CAN.

Two deaths Lave resulted from a remarkable epidemic of typhoid which is raging in Great Harwood, near Blackburn. There aie nearly a hundred cases, and Dr Sergeant, the modical officer for Lancashire, attributes the outbreak to the contamination of the milk supply by sewer gas. A disused drain was discovered on the premises of,a dairy supplying the district with milk, and a female servant who assisted in milking the cows was found suffering from feverish symptoms. Extraordinary precautions aro adopted to prevent the spread of the disease, the sudden and alarming nature of which has created quite a pav'C in the neighbourhood.
