The debtor wa 8 examined on oath by the Deputy-Official Assignee, when ho stated that bo had kept books of ao count bat no banking account. He was laid «i> for tiva months and unable to wo: k ; for seven months ainoa then hla average earnings were £2 per week. There was praotically nothing owing to him. Mr Cb&ilton had given him a large order tvmonotingto £49. Tbis was completed four weeks since, when he *?83 paid £2 18 >, the balstce due to him. He had drawn the rest during the progress of the woik, with the exception of £15, wh'.tth had bean land to' him by Mr Oharlton bofoie the work was given to him. 'Mr Williams had pressed him for payment, bat only Messrs Wall and Blythe had taken action. He bad no offer to make to his creditors. He had never filed before. Since filing bis landlord bad sold everything except bis bed-, ding and clothes. To pay the cost of: filing he had sold some of the articles from the shop. He had been in business for five years, and attributed his going back daring the last two years to high rent, keen competition, and illness. After the examination ot the debtor the meeting adjourned sine die: . The debtor's estate showed liabilities £137 163, and no assets.
