RIFLE SHOOTING.
' The members of the Napier Rifle Clnb ' have completed the final competition for : . Mr F. W. Williams' trophies. There was 1 . again a good muster of members and the shooting was keen and interesting. The i; ' prizes given by Mr F. W. Williams, who : ia the oaptaln of the clnb, comprised a - , pair of binoculars and an improved vernier ot the latest pattern, and were to be won :> by the highest aggregates In two matches, ■ ■ Tbe shooting on Saturday was at 200 and 700 yards, seven shots at each range. Mr G. Bobaon, who bad made 59 in the first matob,- succeeded in patting on the • . splendid score of 34 out of a possible 35 at 200 yards, and following this np with tbe very fair acore of 28 at the long range, , landed the first prize rather easily. The leoood prize was secured by Mr A. Pirie. , ' Mr F. W. WiUiarcß fired from scratch in both matches, earning' next to Me G. X Kobßoa in the total, bat he did not com- ; . - pete for tbe pdzas.
