GREY PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION
GREY PATKIOHC ASSOCIATION. The. usual weekly meeting of the Executive of the Grej Patriotic Association, was held in the Borough Chambers yesterday afternoon. Present:' Messrs J. D. Lynch (chair). K. A. Wiekes, A. Armstrong. J. Ring, AY. R. Kettle, G* A. Blaekwood, D. McKay and D. Tewnent. "Apologies were received for the absence of Messrs J. McLean, K. Skoglund, and P. McKenzie. Mr H. E. Holland, M.P., wrote stating that he would give every support in Parliament to a case which will be brought up at next session ou behalf of a Dunedin soldier. The Advisory Board wrote asking for payment of this Association's quota (£l3) towards Regimental Funds for the Egyptian Forces. On the motion of Mr Tenment it was resolved that no action he taken. The Ashburton Association advised that they would secure and forward v specimen p&ge of the permanent record of soldiers who had enlisted from tliat district, so that a similar record could be compiled for the Grey District. Circular notification was received regarding four soldiers who had been placed on the unsatisfactory list. The Hunterville Association wsote forwarding a cheque for £8 8s as a gr&iit to one of their men who was now residing in the Grey district. Additional grants for sustenance and mufti were made to four men and one application for a n additional grant was deferred. ' Eleven applications for mufti, working outfit, board and travelling expenses were .granted, and four applications were referred t o the responsible {societies.
