BOWLING
'Two 'additional challenges have been put in for the Dawson Cup, which was held throughout last year by W. Cochran *s team, and wilr be played in the i order following:— Wilks, Reynolds, Yeats, Renui (skip) ; Nazer, Hogg, Baxter, Jones (skip). The first-named team will, of course, meet the winner lot to-day's match, when Conncll's team meets Cochrane's. The match is 'set down for to-day at 1 p.m., when all members of both teams nre requested] to be present. The green i s in. excellent order as far as the caretaker's work is concerned but the water level might iind one or two slight defects in it. The water level is a Wellington patent that can be jmrchased for a couple of guineas and used by the caretaker with distinct advantage/ Wellington caretakers would not be without it for anything. It beats the theodolite hollow as a green tester, and needs no expert knowledge to use Jt. /The* Hokitika green wi^; be officially opened next .Saturday.
