WAR VEHICLES.
A PATRIOTIC OFFER. AVAIMATE, June 2(i. When the main Expeditionary Force was getting ready to depart, 25 waggons wore built on the co-operative principle by Auckland firms in a few hours, the parts being assembled from various shops and put together in ft common yard. Now, Hon. J. Allen (Minister of Defence), has been sent the following telegram : — "Supporting your proposal in regard to New Zealand specialising in manufacturing vehicles for war pui"poses, I have pleasure, on behalf of the New Zealand vehicle trades, in placing the whole of their resources of trade at your disposal in co-operative construction. Sgd.) George Dash, President of National Coachbuilders. " The munition workers' bureaux were opened afc six o'clock this evening. There has since been a steady stream of volunteers, including millwrights, fitters, shipwrights, toolmakers, turners, boilermakers and other engineers, and shipbuilders.
