A THREATENED SHORTAGE. NECESSITY FOR ECONOMY. THE QUESTION OF COAL CHARGES. , _ (Reed. 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 26. Hon. W. Runeiman, speaking at West Hartiepool, said that a shortage of meat for civilians was imminent. Careful calculations * showed .-„ that there was sufficient if two pounds less per head were consumed monthly summer and winter. He added that if coal " owners could not arrange, for a limitation of the enormously high coal prices, -the' .Government would ask Parliament to step in. , TRADING WITH THE ENEMY. (Reed. 2.30 p.m.) ' LONDON, June 26. A proclamation issued prohibiting trading with the enemy in China, Siam, Persia and Morocco from July 26th.
