TUMULTUOUS SCENES IN DIET.
SOCIALISTS WANT PEACE.
AMSTERDAM, June 25. Tumultuous scenes have occurred in tho Prussian Diet. Herr Wiemar, <i Progressive, in referring to the war, appealed for unanimity as essential in the carrying out of German efforts. Herr Liebknecht interjected the words : "Capitalist efforts." Herr Braun, a Socialist, urged the Government not to neglect any opportunity for a speedy peace. It would be a calamity if Germany carried out the King of Bavaria's annexation ideas. The people, he said, wanted peace, and rejected annexation as protracting an unbearable loss of national strength. Herr Wiemar said that he was convinced that the majority of .Socialists shared Herr Heinemann's views in favour of continuing the war, as against Herr Liebknecht's views. Herr Liebknecht shouted : "We have fhe masses with us. We want peace. "
