Owners and captains view with envy the /'perfect discipline" which prevails on "British liners.
The Field museum ' of natural his-' ,tory in Chicago is conducting a surprising number of 'scientific expeditions into remote lands. It collected most valuable material last -year in
this way from Tibet; the South Pacific islands, and tfie Phillipines. Subordinate expeditions have been made into Guatemala, British New Guinea, Bermuda islands, and the Fiji islands. That institution is fortunate in having the means for such widely extend ed operations.
