FEILDING HARRIERS. I The annual meeting of the Feilding' Harrier Club was held in the York ' Private Hotel last evening. Mi- Fred. Pirani, sen. (President) was in tho chaii'j and there was a good attend-' ance of members. { The annual report stated that the club had been inaugurated successfully last year and a satisfactory season had resulted, excellent support having been accorded both in membership and donations. Five races were held during the season, Lowe proving the most prominent runner, for he won the 5-mile championship, and performed creditably at the Wellington meeting, winning the sealed' handicap and finishing Bth in the smile championship. Regret was expressed at the loss of several good supporters and members through removal from the district since last season, and a hope was expressed that! all the members would do their ut-! most to increase the roll. Indebted— ness was expressed to all those farmers who had allowed the Harriers to run across their properties, to Mrs McConnachie for the use of room for meetings, to Mr J. Collingwood for his able assistance as handicapper and starter, to Messrs McCorkindale, D. S. Thomson, and Amadio, for acting as timekeepers, and to the following gentlemen for gifts and donationsMessrs D. H. Guthrie, M.P., F. Davey, E. J. Findiay, W. F. Jacobsen, L. Smith, J. Fisher, Macalister, Wels, Cotterill, Whitehouse, Gi'llespie, J. Nevill, Davis, and Mercer. Complimentary reference was also made to those who had so successfully carried out the club dance. Tho" balancesheet showed the receipts to be £2o 4s and the expenditure £17 10s 6d, leaving a credit balance of £5 13s 6d'.

The report and balance-sheet were adopted.

The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr D. H. Guthrie M.P.; President, Mr. Fred. Pirani, sen.; Vice-Presidents, Messrs A. M. Ongley, Mercer, Wells, Whitehouse, Gillespie, D. S. Thomson, Farmer, J. W. Bramwell, Heald, J. Noble, C. H. Burnett, D. Frascr, Collingwood, J. Cobbe, and E. H. Fisher; Hon. Sec, C. "E. Brown; Treasurer, L. Smith; Committee, Messrs J. Eddelston, J. Murray, Fred. Pirani, jun., J. Lowe, and E. J. Findiay; Captain, Mr F. Davey; Vice-Captain, Mr Eddleston. The election oi a delegate for the Wellington Centre was left to the committee.

The official opening was fixed foi Wednesday, May-7, runs in the meantime to be arranged by the committee.

Mr Brown brought up the question *f obtaining tho use of a couple of rooms for tho club, whore a gymnasium, . books, papers, etc., could be arranged for . ~ Mr J. Fisher and others thought itwas a good idea, although there was a difference of opinion about the details, a shower being looked upon as ian essential.

The committee were eventually instructed to obtain a report on the suggestion.

Among other suggestions mado for the consideration of the committee was the institution of a Marathon race from Feilding or Cheltenham and the alteration of the championship distance from sto 3 \ miles. It was decided to invite the Palmerston Harriers to the official run. Trophies were promised as follows: L. Smith and J\ Fisher, gold medal for club championship; C. E. Brown, gold medal for most points in club races; J. Eddelston and Fred. Pirani jun., trophies; L. Ellis, 10s 6d trophy! It was decided to award a trophy of the value of £1 Is to tho member nominating the most members during the season.

Votes of thanks to the president for presiding, and to Mrs McConnachie tor the use of the room terminated the meeting.
