WHEELWRIGHTS FEDERATE. Wellington, March 25. A conference of delegates of various carriage builders and wheelwrights' associations of the Dominion opened at Wellington to-day with Mr J. W. Braysham, of Tara' naki. in tho chair. It was decided, o n the motion of Mr Olulds (Taranaki), to form a federation for New Zealand, .to be ™™ as, tho Carriage Builders', Wheelwrights' and Motor Car Builders National Association of New Zealand. A MINE FLOODED. Whangarei, March 26. Ilie Northern Coal Company's new mine at Hikuraugi was flooded last week, as it was found that the ground was getting uneasy and more water was coning in, gradually increasing till the workings were Hooded and then overflowed to the main shaft, the pump becoming submerged and thrown out of action. It is calculated that an underground reservoir was struck, and it is considered unlikely that the flooding will be of a permanent nature. NURSERYMEN'S ASSOCIATION. Auckland, March 25. _ Tlie New Zealand Association of Nurserymen's conference passed a resolution that, should any New Zea-land-grown trees, or those, over twelvemonths in tlto Dominion be destroyed by order of the Agricultural Department, the Government should pay half the value of Mich nursery stock., as in tho case of diseased animals.
