The pitchings of all classes : of meat into Snnthneld amount to : 8856 tons, which is about 700 tons : above the usual weekly average. ' New Zealand Mutton.—The only 1 arrival since our last report has been. ; the lonic with 19,460 caicases. Canterbury niut- ! ton is still scarce and quotations are ; only nominal. . . , Frozen Lamb.—Arrivals during the ' week amounted to 90,274 carcases. ■ Business is still ot a very disappoint- " ins nature, and compared with last ; year the output is reported to be eon- ' siderably less, whilst .the price per , lb is substantially lower. Frozen BeeL—The only Jresh arrivals to report are 289 quarters.lrom Australia and .5713 'quarters from South America. The demand tor frozen beef is for the present brisk owing to. the higher prices ruling tor the chilled article; at the same time, stocks are very light. New Zealand hinds have advanced m value tuuy id per lb, but fores are. unchanged.
