Major Wardill has requested the Marylebone Club to select a team of cricketers to visit Australia next year. It is believed tbe request will be complied with. He will suggest that Captain Wynyard take charge of the team.

Darling's scoie of yesterday in tbe match at Leeds gives him a record of 1000 runs in test matches.
| Up to the end of the series of 61 test matches completed in Australia last seasonl only four men had achieved fourfigure honours in these contests. Shrews bury's aggregate is 1277, George Giffen's 1288, and A. C. Bannerman's 1105 Dr Grace's record stood till this yeßr at 1069, and in !}he first of the prssent series of test matches " W G" added 29 runs to his aggregate. Darling left Australia this year with a test-match aggregate of 907, and his last five innings have yielded 47, 14, 9, 17, and 9 respectively, bringing bis aggregate up to 1003. Gregory's aggre gate stands at 961, and Clem Hills at 783.]
