U.S. TENNIS TEAM
INVITED TO AUSTRALIA
Rec. 9 a.m. MELBOURNE, May 25. An American lawn tennis team has been invited to play in Australia before the Davis Cup contests are resumed. Announcing this, the presi T dent of the Australian Lawn Tennis Association, Sir Norman Brookes, said that he was hopeful of visiting the United States soon to complete the arrangements. He added that he was in favour of Australian players gaining experience in international contests before playing in Davis Cup matches. Australia holds the Davis Cup. which she won from America in 1939. The challenge round will be played in Australia after Japan is defeated.
