ALCOHOL HOLIDAY IN U.S.

Rec. 9 a.m. WASHINGTON, May 25.

The War Production Board announced a liquor holiday for July, thereby permitting distillers throughout the nation to concentrate their entire production capacity on beverage alcohol.

The War Production Board chairman. Commander Krug, at a Press conference, said that the liquor holiday was ma'dc possible by the suspension of the shipments of industrial alcohol to Russia- and the increasing use of petroleum instead of industrial alcohol in the manufacture of synthetic rubber.

Producers expect to turn out 50.000,000 proof gallons of distilled spirit, equivalent to one year's normal supply of drinking liquor. ,
