BLITZ ON HAMBURG
18,000 People Drowned Rec. 1.15 p.m. LONDON, August 24, It is now revealed, says Reuters Zurich correspondent, that 18,000 persons were drowned when the Elbe tunnel received a direct hit during a recent heavy raid on Hamburg. The tunnel links the thickly-populated districts of Altona and St. Paul with the great dockyard centre.
