NEW U.S. MINISTER
A HIGH TESTIMONIAL
A high testimonial to the qualities of the new United States Minister to New Zealand, Mr. William C. Burdett, was given in a letter from the Miami Chamber of Commerce which was read at a meeting of the council of the. Wellington chamber last night. The writer, the general manager of the Miami chamber, Mr. J. K. Johnson, stated that it was with great regret that they were bidding farewell to Mr. Burdett, who had been in charge of the Miami office of the State Department for the past year. "You will find Mr. Burdett a very fine gentleman, a diplomat o± many years' experience, and a skilled interpreter of economic events and trends of the day," the letter continued. He had been farewelled at a large dinner staged by the city of Miami; and a luncheon had been giv;n by the Miami chamber to wish hici godspeed and to welcome his successor. The letter concluded: "Your members should become acquainted with Mr. Burdett, because you will find him extremely valuable and co-operative in your development and your relationships with America." "
