U.S. PACT WITH MEXICO

MEXICO CITY, October 3. It is authoritatively stated' that a pact has been concluded between the United States and Mexico, and will be signed on October 9. It is hoped that this will pave the way for final liquidation of the oil expropriation controversy. The pact provides that Mexico shall pay 9,000,000 dollars cash to the American oil companies, leaving the final [valuation and payment for future disi cussion. It also provides for agreement on United States silver pur- \ chases and the stabilisation of the peso. '
