DEVASTATING RAID
FEAT OF HURRICANES
EIGHT SHIPS SMASHED
LONDON, October 3. Seven enemy flak ships escorting a supply ship off the French coast were attacked by Hurricanes this morning. Every one of the ships was hit, one J flak ship was sunk, the supply ship and three flak ships were set on _ fire, and the remaining' three were" badly J damaged. Last night a small force of heavy* bombers went out to attack the German warships which are still lying at Brest. At the same time other aircraft bombed the docks and shipyards at St. Nazaire.
Hurricane fighters raided aerodromes in France and Holland from which German bombers attack this country. All the British planes returned safely.
