RESERVE OF GUNNERS
The suggestion that men on coastal defence in New Zealand should be given short-term service in rotation was made in notice of a question given by Mr. C. Carr (Government, Timaru) in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr. Carr asked the Minister of Defence if he would consider allowing these men to return to civil life after a period of training, to be replaced by fresh drafts so that a reserve of trained gunners would be established.
