BULLET THROUGH TRAMCAR
The police and. the tramway authorities are investigating the firing of a shot across Pirie Street and through the windows of a city-bound car from Miramar, at about 11.30 a.m. on Saturday. The car had just left the Hataitai tunnel when the bullet whizzed across the centre glassed-in compartment. Fortunately no one was in the line of fire, but two Air Force men were close enough to be convinced that a shot had passed their heads.
