WEDDING
NEEDHAM—BUTT,
: The marriage was solemnised recently at St. Mark's Church, Dufferin Street, of Gladys Muriel Ivy, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Butt, Wellington (late of Levin), and David Sydney, second son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Needham, Karo'ri. The service was conducted by the Rev. N. F. E. Robertshawe, Mr. R. Page presiding at the organ.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a trained gown of white Persian lamb taffeta made with a slightly ruched bodice and long sleeves. Her circular veil featured an embroidered scolloped edge and was held to the head by three gardenias. Her bouquet was of white roses and lilies. She was attended by Mrs. I. Smith and by her cousins, the Misses T. and J. Noble. They were dressed alike in hand-painted French organdie in tones of pink and green. Pink flowers on velvet ribbons were worn in their hair and their bouquets were of pink carnations and sweet peas.
The best man was Mr. I. Smith, and Messrs. C. Webster and D. Butt (brother of the bride) were groomsmen.
At the reception and dance in the Mokoia Hall Mrs. S. Butt (the bride's mother), with Mrs. A. Needham (mother of the bridegroom) received the guests, the former wearing a model frock of Tahiti rose under a navy edge-to-edge coat, a navy hat, and accessories, and a toning shoulder spray. Mrs. Needham's brown and gold ensemble was worn with a brown hat and accessories, her spray being in golden tones. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Foster, of Levin, arranged the floral decorations. Some of the other guests were also visitors to Wellington.
When the bride and bridegroom left for a motor tour, Mrs. Needham wore a pale blue coat over a clover ensemble, a large blue hat, and black accessories. She carried,a brown fur stole.
