ARTILLERY FIRE
WESTERN FRONT
NAZI VETERANS BEING
REPLACED
(Received December 6, 1 p.m.)
LONDON, December 5,
A French war communique states that there was patrol and artillery activity during the night on certain points of the front.
A communique issued in Berlin states that there was further intensive artillery fire by the enemy in the frontier region east of the Moselle. Otherwise, there was only slight activity. It is semi-officially stated in Berlin that the 1914-18 veterans are gradually being demobilised and younger reserves are replacing them.
