MOBILE UNITS
SPECIALLY-EQUIPPED TRUCKS

The first consignment of motor vehicles to be used in the training of the Special Force was delivered to the camp at Hopuhopu today. Eighteen trucks were driven from Auckland. Further deliveries are to be made till t'ue full issue of 62 vehicles has been completed. Trucks, which range from lOcwt to three tons were purchased at the outbreak of war and have been converted for Army use by ten Auckland coach-building firms. All the vehicles have been camouflaged. Some are equipped with wireless and others have been provided with anti-aircraft and machine-gun mountings.
