COASTAL VESSEL SOLD
: For; many years a familiar sight on Wellington Harbour,.first as a steamer and lately as a motor-ship, the South Taranaki Shipping Company's small coaster Kapuni has been sold to an Auckland firm, A. G. Frankham, Ltd. The Kapuni, until recently engaged in the Wellington-Patea trade along with the Hawera and Inaha, is a wooden vessel of 190 tons gross, built in 1909 by W. H. Brown, of Auckland. She will be- replaced on the South Taranaki run by the Foxton, recently acquired from the Canterbury Steam Shipping Company. The Foxton is now painted in the South Taranaki Company's colours—black hull with black-topped yellow funnel —and is already trading to Patea for her new owners.
The Kapuni is expected to leave for Auckland on Tuesday next.
