PRODUCE IN PALMERSTON.

The Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, reporting on their usual weekly sale held on Thursday, state that due to the Manawatu Show being held, a smaller entry of pigs than usual came forward. Competition was very keen, resulting in weaners selling up. to 265; stores to 375; and light porkers to £2 Bs. Poultry was in heavy supply, a total clearance being made at prices a little in excess of -, last week's realisations, Black Orpington hens selling to 13s per pair and good whites to 9s per pair. Produce was in exceptionally heavy demand and. with the exception of lettuce, which was a glut on the market, all other lines sold particularly well. We quote as follows:—Pigs: Best weaners, 24s to 26s each, medium 20s to 23s s small and backward 16s 6d to 17s; slipes, 26s to 30s; stores, 32s to 375; light porkers, 41s to 48s. Poultry: Best White Leghorn hens, 8s to 9s per pair; Black Orpington hens, 10s to 13s; light hens, 5s 8d to 7s; heavy cockerels, 7s to 9s per pair; light cockerels, 5s to 6s per pair; ducks, 3'oung 9s to 11s per pair, 01d.6s to 8s per pair; roosters, 6s to 7s per pair; hens and chicks, 10s to 23s each: pullets, 4s to 5s each; this season's cockerels, 6d to Is each.
