ACTIVITY AT EMDEN
CAUSE NOT MADE CLEAR
(Daventry Broadcast.)
LONDON, Tuesday Night.
There was heavy German antiaircraft activity around the German port of Emden tonight but it is not clear what caused it. No British aircraft raided Emden, and it is possible that Netherlands planes were the cause of all the bother. Observers in the Netherlands heard intermittent gunfire for several hours.
The Netherlands Government is protesting to Berlin because Netherlands patrol planes were shot at today.
