GIFT OF DESTROYER
SOUTH AFRICAN SCHEME

PORT ELIZABETH, October 17.
The Mayor has sent a letter to eighteen municipalities requesting their cooperation in the raising of £300,000 to defray the cost of a destroyer which it is planned to name the South Africa. The money would be handed over to Britain as a gift from the Union.
