PRIVATE DANCE

EVENT AT EXHIBITION

CABARET

Four hundred specially invited guests filled the Centennial Exhibition Cabaret on Saturday night, when the management gave a private dance. Apart from the fact that dancing on the specially-sprung floor to the music of an excellent dance band made the occasion thoroughly enjoyable, there was much to interest the guests in the modern lighting and the charming interior decorations. Neutral walls and azure pillars, surmounted by shaded lights made a perfect setting for the many lovely frocks worn, and supper was served at the smart red and black cabaret tables surrounding the dance floor and furnishing the balcony.

The host and hostess for the occasion were Mr. R. C. Love and Miss Glee Love.

The Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. A. Hislop, were present, and among other official guests were Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Hainsworth, and Miss Hainsworth, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Avery, Mr. and Mrs. N. Palethorpe, Mr. and Mrs. Fernandez, Mr. James Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. H. Sapsford, Mr. Hayman, Mr. L. Malaghan, Mr. and Mrs. A. Bowrie, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Muston, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Seff, Mr.- and Mrs. Burton, Mr. and Mrs. "-■ MCNaughton, Mr. Manuel Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Asquith, Mr. and Mrs. Trim, Mr. George Taylor, and Mr. R. Woolridge.

Other specially invited guests included foremen and leading carpenter hands and suppliers of materials who had been associated with the building of this part of the Exhibition.
