HIDES AND SHEEPSKINS.
As provided for under the Price Stabilisation Emergency Regulation, 1939, and amendment thereto, local brokers have disposed of certain hides and sheepskins as required by local tanners- and fellmongers, at prices equivalent to those ruling at September 1. The balance is still being held until advice is received from the Government of the United Kingdom, as to the method of distribution to be employed during the war period. Brokers expect that they will soon be able to make known to their clients the method of sale for all produce. Meanwhile under Government instructions they are holding produce not required for local consumption. All produce will be kept in the best possible manner, and any additional charges incurred will be met by the Government. Clients are asked to continue to send in their hides and skins to their brokers in the norma] manner.
