Remands for a week- were granted by Mr. J. .L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's, Court today in the cases of Joseph Eric Cornish, aged 27, a labourer, who is charged with stealing from Amy Johnston two bags and their contents, valued at £12 9s 7Jd. and of Douglas Alexander Biddiss, aged 28,. a presser, Who is charged with stealing from R. H. Williams a wrist watch valued at £3 10s.
Mr. B. Wilkie, a paint sprayer, 138 Onepu Road, wounded his left elbow when he was struck by a piece of steel while working at Turnbull and Jones's, Cable Street, at 10.5 a.m. today. The Free Ambulance took him to hospital.
