A remand for a week was granted by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today in the case of Winiata Fraser, aged 27, a labourer, who is charged with obtaining £3 15s from A. R. Rowntree by a false pretence with a cheque.
A total of 15,380 persons arrived in the Dominion during the five months ended August 31 last as against 15,633 who departed, states the monthly Abstract of Statistics.
