ROTARY MOVEMENT
STRUCTURE AND AIMS
An outline of the structure, objects, and operation throughout the world of the Rotary movement was given in an address to the Wellington Rotary Club today by the New Zealand District Governor, Mr. David Ewen. He explained how, during his recent visit to America, where he attended the annual Rotary convention, he was shown at first hand, the structure and operation of Rotary International. The speaker praised the efficient organisation of the secretariat and gave details of some features of its activities.
jSpeaking of his other experiences in the United-States, Mr. Ewen said he counted himself fortunate in having seen the King and Queen when they visited Washington. He would not have believed that the sight of them there would prove so thrilling. "One thing the American people are unanimous about is their love for our King and Queen," he said.
The speaker concluded by appealing to his hearers to remember that the success of Rotary, with its great opportunities for service, depended principally on individual Rotarians.
