BIRDS AND PLANTS
How birds and plants are unconscious allies was explained by Dr. W. R. B. Oliver, Director of the Dominion Museum, in a lecture to the Botanical Society. He showed how birds help to pollinate flowers, distribute seeds, and defend plants against the attacks of insects. The value of bird life was not always appreciated as much as it should be.
Foliage and flowers of native plants around Wellington were displayed, and Mrs. M. M. Martin gave an interesting talk on the Otari Native Plant Museum.
