AUSTRALIAN ARTISANS

MORE ARRIVE BY AWATEA

The Awatea, which arrived from Sydney today, brought another party of Australian artisans who were engaged for work in New Zealand by Mr. E. T. Spidy, superintendent of the New Zealand Railway workshops, on his recent visit to Australia. There were 16 in the party—two coppersmiths, four boilermakers, two turners, six fitters, and two welders.

In addition, there were ten men following various trades who came over by the ship with the object of finding employment in this country.

The men were met on board by Mr. J. Lewis, placement officer at Wellington.
