JIGGERS COLLIDE
MAN SERIOUSLY HURT
An unusual accident occurred on the Main Trunk railway line near Te Awamutu about 8 o'clock on Saturday night, when a motor-jigger operated by Mr. Alfred Corlett, aged 51, railway employee, married, of Te Kuiti, was involved in a collision with a handdriven jigger operated by two other railway employees, states today's "New Zealand Herald." The two men on the hand-jigger jumped clear, but Mr. Corlett received severe head injuries. He was admitted by the St. John Ambulance to the Waikato Hospital. A fractured skull is suspected. Mr. Corlett was still unconscious last evening, and his condition is reported as serious.
