BLIZZARD RAGES
MOUNT RUAPEHU
Although there has been no further heavy fall of snow at the Chateau, a blizzard has been blowing on Mount Ruapehu for several days, states today's "New Zealand Herald." The 260 guests at the Chateau have not, been greatly inconvenienced, but a number of people at the Ruapehu Ski: Club's hut were practically confined to the building during the weekend. Carried by a wind of gale force, drifting snow covered the road up the mountain, and a snow plough was used this afternoon to clear a track. Although rocks are still showing, good skiing has been available and over 150 visitors were on the field on Saturday.
