MIRAMAR V. NEWTOWN
Miramar aud Newtown met at jthe Showgrounds, Miramar winning by 17 points to 15. Miramar though solid, wero not brilliant, but were the better side on the day. Both back lines gave good exhibitions of .passing, and the scrums were evenly balanced. Miramar's tries came from Wickham, Wood, Crothcrs, and Gollop (2). Askew converted a try. Newtown scorers were Beaton, Rodgers, and Hemmlngton, and McLennen converted a try. The penalty goals went to Jamison and McLennen. Tho pick of Newtown's, forwards were Holmes, McLennen, and Rierson, and of the backs. Drew, Beaton, and Steward. Miramar's best were Wickham. Gollop, Askew. The referee was Mr. J. Petterson.
