WOMEN'S GAMES
The most important result in the Wellington Women's Hockey Association's games was Hutt United's defeat of Technical Old Girls I, and T.O.G. I, CO G., and Hutt United are now running level for championship honours. Training College are gradually creeping up the ladder, Poneke giving them another win. Neither University nor Hutt Valley put in an appearance for their game at Karori Park. The defeat of T.O.G. I by Hutt United came as a complete surprise, particularly as Hutt United were not playing, their usual team. Undoubtedly, the ground was a deterrent to the Technicals side. Their type of play requires a firm, springy' ground, and the field was very heavy at Newtown Park. The flnal score was 2-1. Miss J. Mack (T.0.G.) scored the flrst goal of the match, and Miss M. Dawber scored both Hutt United's goals. The Kilbirnio ground, compared with other fields, was in a surprisingly good condition for play when College Old Girls defeated Technical Old Girls II by 5 goals lo 1. Both sides played neatly, T.O.G.'s full-backs dominating the play to some extent. T.O.G. were first to score, Miss Black netting early in the game. Mrs. Wilsson (3) and Mrs. .Lamason (2) scored for C.O.G^ Training Colleso did not produce the form which gave T.O.G. such a hard run last week in their match against Poneke at Karori Park. Play on both.sides was poor, and a very even flrst half ended-with no score. Miss Hawea, fullback. (Poneke), was an outstanding player. Training College won by 2 goals to 0, both goals being netted "by .Miss N. Spiers.
