TRAP SHOOTING

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, July 9. The New Zealand Gun Club championships were continued in unfavourable weather on Saturday when the Dominion clay target titles were decided. There were . 102 competitors, a record in New Zealand trap shooting- ..... -'. b. Nq possibles were recorded in the shooting at the 21-targets, but the following broke 20 birds:—D. W. Davison (Culverden), T. L. . Joblin (Morere), F. E. Cox (Taumarunui), and C. Wilber (Morrinsville). These four! divided the prize-money of £67 10s, and shot oil for the championship at I five birds. Davison was the only one' to break five birds and he secured the j title and the trophy. Cox was runner-, up. ! The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry), who was a com-' petitor, presented the prizes. > In the evening the annual meet-1 ing of the New Zealand Gun Clubs' Association Was held, when the following officers were elected:—President, Mr. R. S. Taylor (Christchurch); North Island referee, Mr. W. Woolven' (Hamilton); South Island referee, Mr. L. A. Shand (Christchurch); North Island vice-president. Mr. H. Quartermain (Wanganui); South Island. vicepresident, Mr. -1.-G. Waikins (Rangiora).
Next year's championships were 'allotted to the Christchurch Gun Club.
