(Received April 19, 1.10 p.m.)

CAPE TOWN, April 18.

The special police which are being sent to South-west Africa are due at Windsoek on April 19 on the eve of Herr Hitler's birthday on which the authorities expect trouble. There is the possibility of reckless and irresponsible action in view of the presence of 8000 Germans, most of whom are armed and organised.

The announcement in the House of Assembly that information had been received which made urgent the immediate strengthening of the SouthWest African Police was made by the Minister of Justice, General Smuts, who promised a full statement tomorrow, when he will introduce a Bill for incorporating the South-West African Police in the South African Police.
