MATES FOR MYOSOTIS

Mr. A. Jw Matthews, who is gathering a collection of mares for his Waratah Stud at Peak Hill, New South Wales, for mating with Myosotis, whom he bought in the Dominion some time ago, and also with Winooka, secured some bargains at a bloodstock sale at Orange last week. Among the mares that fell to his bid was Silver Spark, by Silyerado from the Martian mare Battle Scene, dam of Spearfort, the dam of Bourbon. Others he bought inincluded Silver Moon (Silverado— Coroke"), Limerce (Limond—Commerce)), and' Epygraph (Paper Money— Epitaph). He paid 100 guineas for Silver Spark, and less for all his other purchases. At the recent Melbourne Cup week sales his purchases included Snow Queen (Beau Pere—Curtsey), who was disposed of by Mr. W. R. Kemball.
