HUTT VALLEY AND N.Z.L.T.A.
By more than a four-fifths majority the council of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, at its quarterly meeting last evening, refused the application of the Hutt Valley Lawn Tennis • Sub-Association direct affiliation with the N.Z.L.T.A. It was pointed out that the Hutt Valley had a quarter of the membership of the Wellington Association—with which it is at present affiliated—and . a greater membership than ten of the existing associations; but the council decided that its proximity to Wellington did riot justify the change.
