ADDITIONS TO TOWN HALL
The building of an annex to the Town Hall, on the western side and covering part of the area which has been used as a corporation car park, is to be commenced next week and will be the first step towards a big enlargement %f the civic offices to catch up with the long overdue provision of accommodation for members of the Town Clerk's, treasury, and other central office staffs. The annex will be four storeys high, with a frontage of 23ft to Mercer Street and a depth of 40ft. The tender of Mr. M. G. Templeton has been accepted for the work, which was designed by Messrs. S. Fearn and W. M. Page.
