PLUNKET SHIELD PLAYERS

The Auckland, Canterbury, and Otago cricket selectors are off the mark ahead of Wellington's selector in indicating the prospective players for the Plunket Shield matches this season. However, the Wellington selector has had but little to guide him in making his choice, the weather having been a handicap to form and practice.

The following Auckland players have been selected by Mr. H. Duncan to attend practices in view of the representative match engagements:—J. Cowie, C. Burke, J. Felts, G. Wallace, N. Ellis (Grafton), C. Snedden, N. MeMahon, A. J. Postles, J. E. Mills, W. Carson, G. L. Weir ((Eden), H. G. Vivian, P. E. Whitelaw, M. W. Wallace (Parnell), A. M. Matheson (University), V. Scott, A. E. For the Show Day match iri Christchurch the Canterbury selector (Mr. M. L. Page) chose the following team: J. L. Kerr (West Christchurch), W. A. Hadlee (Old Boys), M. P. Donnelly (West Christchurch), R. E. J. Menzies (Old Boys), I. B. Cromb (Lancaster Park), E. T. Mulcock (St. Albans), R. C. Webb (St. Albans), V. James (East Chistchurch), W. McD. Anderson (Old Boys), L. A. Butterfield (Sydenham), H. Davis (East Christchurch).

A. W. Roberts (Riccarton) is not available.

Otago's players for representative practice are: K. Uttley and McDonald (University), A. C. Holden and A. T. Anderson (Kaikorai), G.~J. Robertson (Dunedin), V. G. Cavanagh and T. C. Fraser (Carisbrook), A. Knight, C. J. Elmes, A. . Moir, and G. Lemin (Grange), L. Groves, N. Colvin, G. Mills, V. Leader, and W. D. McLeod (Old Boys), and R. Silver (Albion). It is to be expected, of course, that D. A. R. Moloney, who transferred' from Wellington to Dunedin this week, will be added to the list.
