EASTBOURNE FIRE
Two rooms of a house at 15 Mahoe Street, Eastbourne, were badly gutted by a fire which originated in a washhouse at about 9.45 o'clock this morning. The brigade did excellent work in preventing the spread of the flames. The house is owned by Mr. P. N. Gray and occupied by Mr. M. Nunes. Both building and contents are covered by insurance.
Head injuries and concussion were suffered by a child of 5J years, James Spratt. of Woodlands Road, Johnsonvine, late yesterday afternoon when he fell ten feel down a bank. He was brought in to hospital at 6.15 p.m. by the Free Ambulance.
A decree nisi on the ground of separation was granted by Me. Justice Ostler in the Supreme Court today to Rowland Clement Hill (Mr. A. B. Sievwright). whose petition for divorce from Eileen May Hill was not defended.
