NEW YORK, July 14.
The actual time occupied by th« Soviet flyers in their record-breaking long-distance air journey from Moscow was 62 hours 17 minutes, the distanca covered being 6668 miles.
They estimate that they got as far south as San Diego, but they wera forced to return cwing to fog. The petrol line was dented in the landing on the bumpy pastures.
The chief pilot, M. Michail Gromov, said that they encountered three cyclones and were compelled to use tha oxygen tanks for 26 hours owing to their flying at great altitudes. Tht single motor functioned perfectly..
