SHAKESPEAREAN SEASON.
As the result of the visit to England
of Mr. Frank S. Tait, one of the managing directors of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., J. C. Williamson, Ltd. is arranging to present a complete Shakespearean company in Australia and New Zealand. With the co-operation of the directors of the Stratford-on-Avon Memorial Theatre,' a company of 28 players and a producer will bring an attractive repertoire at the end of February, 1938. This company, which will bring its own scenery and costumes, will present "Hamlet," "Henry V," "A Winter's Tale," "A Midsummer Night's Dream." "Romeo and Juliet," "King Lear." "As You Like It." "The Taming of the Shrew." "Cymbeline," and "Julius Caesar." Mr. Tait said that it was possible that Iden Payne, the director and producer of the Memorial Theatre, who is organising the company and will rehearse it before it leaves England, will also cqme to Australasia.
