NOVA PILBEAM.
Nova Pilbeam makes her first essay mto romantic screen role in the G B D attraction "A Shilling for Candles," which will go into production at Pinewood Studios. Less than three' years ago she was hailed as a new child star after her brilliant performance in "Little Friend." Now at seventeen she has the romantic lead in the screen adaptation of Josephine Toy's "A Shilling for Candles" under the direction- of Alfred Hitchcock. Hitchcock has given a great deal of thought to the question of whom to cast as Nova's first real leading man. His choice has ultimately fallen to 26-year-old Darrick De Marney. The film is a crime-and-escape story, with a love and duty theme seen through the eyes- of a young girl.
